I believe he is saying that the demand will persist so the sales aren't "lost" they are "delayed". I think that is mostly correct. They will likely lose some people due to impatience, but not many in my estimation.

I had a lot of problems with TLOU2's story, but I actually came to a different conclusion than most. That game should have ONLY BEEN ABOUT ABBY. The war between the Wolves and the Seraphites was way more interesting than the stupid and petty revenge plots. Ellie shouldn't have been in the game AT ALL.
This doesn't make Abby a great character in the game we got, but it would make the story less stupid and pointless.
